The Kennebec Valley Art Association has announced its 11th annual Higher Forms of Art exhibition is on view March 19-31 at the Danforth Gallery at Jewett Hall, 46 University Drive, Augusta.

The artwork is by students from area high schools presented in partnership with the University of Maine at Augusta.

An opening reception will take place from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday, March 19.

Gallery hours are 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Thursday, 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Friday, 1-4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, April 2.

KVAA’s Young at Art K-8 Exhibition, highlighting student artwork from area elementary schools, also opens from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Sunday, March 19, at Harlow Gallery, 160 Water St., Hallowell.

The program gives emerging artists the opportunity to show their art in a professional gallery space, and offers students the experience of organizing and installing a major art exhibition.
