HALLOWELL — The Harlow Gallery will conduct a workshop, The Art of Harvest, from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, May 28, at 160 Water St. The botanical art workshop will be led by Heather Rose, as part of the gallery’s Professional Development Series.

Rose will show participants how to create an edible work of art. Gain knowledge about a wide variety of botanical beauties throughout the seasons, harvested fresh from local farms and gardens.

The cost is $25 for members, or $30 for nonmembers, plus a $10 materials fee. The workshop is open to anyone 10 and older. Children younger than 12 must be accompanied by an adult.

Matthew Scease will lead a professional writing workshop from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, June 11, at the gallery.

Scease has been writing professionally for 20 years for Maine’s environmental and social justice nonprofits. During the workshop participants can go through some guided writing exercises, review best practices for writing clearly and concisely, and focus on particular questions and areas of concern. This workshop will be shaped around the collective needs of the participants. This workshop is free for Harlow Gallery members, $10 for nonmembers.
