Readfield voters. Get out and vote on June 13 on the school budget. This is a secret vote at the town office or with absentee ballot. Regional School Unit 38 is coming to the table again with a budget increase demand. Your vote is crucial to keeping the RSU budget in check.

This is the fifth year running where the RSU has increased our property taxes, and it appears to be a perpetual issue. As a taxpayer I cannot believe that I am getting treated honestly and fairly by RSU 38. In reading the May 2017 Readfield Messenger, it appears that the superintendent thinks this is “wonderful news.” I absolutely disagree.

The town of Readfield and the Maine Legislature are doing their part to control our property taxes, but it appears the RSU does not see the importance of this. Readfield voters, get out and vote on June 13.
