JACKMAN — Forest Hills School Memorial Day Assembly was held May 26. The program was coordinated by Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary members Lindy Duval and Ami Amero, with music under the direction of Phoebe Payne. Edwin Cuddy coached the Color Guard.

Besides music, the program included instruction on the history of the American Flag, Flag Etiquette and Retirement, Voice of Democracy District winner recognition to Demi Giroux, Young American Awards by VFW Cmdr. Ed McCall, along with a tribute to veterans who had passed in the last year and a musical performance with English teacher Heidi Grindahl on the violin and music teacher Phoebe Payne on the cello, with narration by senior Ian West performing “Ashokan Farwell.”

Middle schooler Jackman Daigle concluded the assembly by playing “Taps.”
