SOMERVILLE — Open Farm Day is planned for 1-4 p.m. Saturday, June 24. Six farmers will open their historic farms to the public. For a map and list of participating farms, visit www.somervillefarmersnetwork.com.

The farms range from commercial dairy and vegetable farms to small homesteads which produce everything from syrup and honey to eggs and small livestock. Participants can visit the gardens and baby animals such as kids, piglets and shaggy Highland calves.

In 2016 the Somerville Farmers’ Network was formed to revive this tradition of working — and celebrating — together. Many of the farms are on historic farmland, and the owners are committed to preserving them as working farms.

A raindate is set for Sunday, June 25.
