Chief Deputy Timothy Carroll of the Knox County Sheriff’s Office identified the victim as 63-year-old Felicity Davidson.

She was a passenger on a motorcycle operated by 64-year-old Ronald Moon of Waldoboro when it hit the rear end of a 2016 Audi SUV driven by 57-year-old Chaturvedi Alok of New Delhi, India, as it was pulling onto Route 17 from Town House Road.

Davidson, who was not wearing a helmet, died at the scene. Moon suffered broken bones and was taken to Penobscot Bay Medical Center. Alok was not injured.

Carroll said Alok told police he did not see the motorcycle as it crested a hill. Speed and impairment are not believed to be factors in the crash, which happened just before 5 p.m.

This is the fourth fatal vehicle crash handled by the sheriff’s office since May 1. Six people have died in those crashes. The most recent was last Wednesday, when two women died in a head-on car crash on Route 17.
