A motorcyclist and a pedestrian were taken to Maine Medical Center in Portland on Thursday after colliding on Main Street in Sanford, police said.

Deputy Police Chief Tim Strout said Christopher Hodgkins, 29, a transient, was was walking in the northbound lane of Main Street near the Shapleigh town line when a motorcycle ridden by James Little, 59, of West Newfield hit him around 2:07 p.m.

Strout said Hodgkins suffered possible internal injuries, while Little had broken bones. Neither man’s condition was available Thursday night. The accident remains under investigation.
