PASSADUMKEAG – Four people are facing charges after the alleged assault of a minor in Maine that was allegedly recorded and shared hundreds of times on social media.

The incident allegedly occurred at a Passadumkeag home on July 1. The Penobscot County Sheriff’s Office received a complaint about the incident two days later.

According to reports from WLBZ-2, the Penobscot County District Attorney has charged suspects Anthony Witham and Cody Fox with assault. Fox was also charged with furnishing a place for minors to consume liquor. Both men pleaded not guilty on August 8.

Two more suspects, Tyler Michaels and Damien Spencer, were also charged with furnishing a place for minors to consume liquor. Those men pleaded guilty in Lincoln District Court and were each fined $1,000.

This story was corrected at 10 a.m. on Saturday, August 12. A previous version reported unconfirmed reports that 8 people had been charged in connection with the incident.
