The Community Approach to Stopping Heroin or CASH will be held Aug. 31 from 5-7 p.m. at Riverbank Park in Westbrook, Police Chief Janine Roberts said in a statement.

Guest speakers will include Roberts, Sgt. Matt Baker from the Oxford County Sheriff’s Office, and Kris Goodwin from an organization called Out of the Shadows, which works to raise awareness of the heroin epidemic and works with individuals who have lived with substance abuse disorder.

After the speakers, the group will walk to Gazebo Park. Roberts said the gazebo will be dedicated to those who have lost their lives to drug addiction, to those who are still struggling with substance use disorder, and to those who have “bravely found their way to recovery.”
