Gov. Paul LePage goes against the interests of Mainers when he insults Sens. Angus King and Susan Collins on their recent votes against the health care bills (“Gov. LePage goes national with criticism of Maine’s US senators,” Aug. 2).

The senators have done their best to hear what Mainers are telling them, and I am appreciative to have them and embarrassed at the boorishness of our governor.

I especially thank Sen. Collins, who has been a staunchly reasonable member of the GOP while secretive bills were written and ridiculous pressures were raised against her (Here’s looking at you, Rep. Blake Farenthold).
