Caleb Richardson, 17, dedicated his Eagle Scout project, to the late Taylor Harmon on Sunday. Harmon was a dedicated Cony High School cross country and track coach for many years. Richardson said “He was a man who helped athletes use running as a bridge to reach their future goals,” according to a news release from Don Demers, of American Legion Post 603. Boy Scout Troop 603 is sponsored by American Legion Post 205 of Augusta.

The ribbon cutting ceremony was done by Rebecca Harmon, the widow of Taylor, who received a bouquet of roses.

His project, which was a bridge, is located in the Augusta Nature Education Center at the South Belfast Avenue visitor entrance near Whitney Brook. Richardson was helped by the adults in Troop 603 along with the Scouts of the troop.

Richardson, who started his junior year at Cony High School this week, is the son of Stephen and Toni Richardson, of Augusta.
