An evening of bluegrass music with Darlin’ Corey & Friends will begin at 7 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 16, at Searsport Shores Oceanfront Campground, 216 West Maine St.

Darlin’ Corey is the most recent project for Erica Brown and Matt Shipman. Accompanied by fiddle, banjo, mandolin and guitars they put their unique spin on bluegrass, old time, folk and original songs. Shipman and Brown will be joined by their longtime bass player Steve Roy and Carter Logan on banjo.

In addition to Darlin’ Corey, the concert also will include local favorites Velocipede, Miners Creek and ukulele master Frets Halligan.

The event is to support the Maine Makers Guild, a local nonprofit that offers educational and professional opportunities to musicians, artists and farmers. The guild sponsors several events each year including Fiber College of Maine, Vacationland Bluegrass Camp and the Old Time Music weekend.

A $10 donation is suggested at the door. Seating will be provided, but folks may want to bring a cushion to sit on.
