MANCHESTER — The Manchester Lions Club will host the Central Maine Amazing Race Saturday, Sept. 23.

The race will begin and end at the Manchester Lions Club. From there 20 teams will participate in challenges throughout the surrounding towns. The teams will compete in various challenges earning points along the way. Teams also can accrue additional points based on pledges collected.

A lobster/barbecue chicken benefit dinner will follow the race. Dinners are open to the public and available for take-out. Tickets must be purchased in advance (even for takeout orders).

During dinner, highlights of the race will be shown and awards presented to the winning teams and top fundraisers.

The fundraiser will benefit a local resident with the purchase of a special pair of eSight eyeglasses that will help her regain her vision she lost of 17 years ago. These glasses are the newest in technology advances to help those with low vision regain their independence.
