University of Maine Cooperative Extension 4-H in Waldo County will hold a live 4-H auction and bake sale at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 14, at Dirigo Grange on Route 137 in Freedom.

Proceeds will support Waldo County 4-H scholarships and programs.

The community auction is the largest annual fundraiser of the Waldo County 4-H Leaders’ Association, which supports county 4-H youth programming, and offers full and partial scholarships for national 4-H events and youth citizenship programs, including Citizenship Washington Focus.

UMaine Extension 4-H is open to all Maine youth ages 5-18. Participation can include animal science projects involving dairy, goats, horses, poultry and sheep. Other options include community clubs, special interest (SPIN) clubs, 4-H camps, STEM programs and engaging youth in leadership and citizenship opportunities.

Auction items can be previewed at noon at the Grange the day of the auction. Freedom Grange will provide lunch items for purchase.
