The former head of the Maine International Trade Center has started a consulting firm to grow Maine exports.
Janine Bisaillon-Cary has started Montserrat Group LLC, based in Cape Elizabeth, according to a news release Thursday.
The consulting firm aims to help Maine businesses develop export markets and sales.
“One of the biggest challenges our companies face is time management – having the time to devise a strong export plan, execute a localized marketing strategy, and turn trade leads into export sales,” Bisaillon-Cary said in a written statement. “Montserrat Group is focusing on helping Maine’s companies achieve more of those export successes.”
The new firm has four associates, according to its website. It is currently working with European and North American investors in the advanced manufacturing and food processing sectors.
Bisaillon-Cary worked at the Maine International Trade Center for 17 years, nine as center president, before stepping down in June. Prior to the trade center, she worked for private-sector import-export companies.
