A Connecticut man has pleaded guilty Thursday in federal court to robbing a bank in Bangor in May and is facing between seven years and life in prison.

U.S. Attorney Halsey B. Frank said in a news release that Seth J. Blewitt, 30, of Oakville, Connecticut was charged with robbing a TD Bank branch and a Dollar Tree store over a two-day period. He pleaded guilty in Bangor to robbery and brandishing a firearm.

According to court records, Blewitt entered the bank on May 28, approached a teller, and said, “I’m actually robbing you. I want all of your money, no dye packs or GPS trackers.”

At the time of the robbery, Blewitt was wearing a black knit hat, sunglasses, gloves, and a plaid shirt. The teller complied with his requests and Blewitt fled with a bag of cash.

The next day, Blewitt robbed the Dollar Tree store using a shotgun. He was wearing a mask and sunglasses and demanded that a cashier open the register. When the cashier informed him that she could not open the register, Blewitt struck the register with the shotgun. After that act of violence, the manager came forward and handed over cash to Blewitt.

Officers from the Bangor Police Department arrested Blewitt and his wife, Cara M. Blewitt, minutes after the Dollar Tree robbery. She was acting as the getaway driver. She pleaded guilty in October to aiding and abetting the robberies and awaits sentencing.
