The Nov. 16 editorial “Trump’s court nominees unfit for lifetime seats” is correct.

President Donald Trump has quickly nominated judicial candidates and the Senate has rapidly confirmed them, but 136 vacancies remain open. Not one Republican has voted no on any Trump judicial nominee on the floor or in the Judiciary Committee.

Sen. Susan Collins, R-Maine, should assume the lead to insure the appointment of competent and ethical judges, who will enjoy life tenure and exercise the enormous power of the state.
