READFIELD — The freshman duo of Kate Mohlar and Anna Drillin each went 3-for-4 from the line in overtime to lead Maranacook past Erskine 55-51 in Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference girls basketball action Friday.

Drillin finished with 13 points while Mohlar had 12 for Maranacook (1-0). Grace Despres led all scorers with 16 points.

Joanna Linscott led Erskine (0-1) with 13 points while Lauren Wood added 11 and Liz Sugg 10.

MEDOMAK 66, GARDINER 61, OT: The Panthers outscored the Tigers 12-7 in overtime to earn the season-opening KVAC B win in Waldoboro.

Gabby DePatsy scored a game-high 25 points for Medomak (1-0) while Hallie Kunesh added 13.

Aimee Adams led Gardiner (0-1) with 13 points and 10 rebounds. Mikayla Bourassa and Leslie Stevens also scored 13 points apiece and freshman Bailey Poore chipped in 11.

KENTS HILL 26, HEBRON 25: Tiffany McGhie scored 15 points to lead the Huskies to the Class C South win in Hebron.

Kents Hill (1-0) outscored Hebron 9-4 in the final quarter. Danielle Eid added six points.

Franceska Halloran scored a game-high 17 points for Hebron (0-1).

LAWRENCE 63, CONY 34: The Bulldogs jumped out to a 20-4 first-quarter lead and never looked back on their way to the KVAC A win in Augusta.

Brooklyn Lambert scored 15 points to lead Lawrence (1-0) while Megan Curtis and Molly Folsom each scored 11.

Sarah Caron and Cari Hopkins each had 10 points for Cony (0-1).

BOYS BASKETBALL 

LAWRENCE 58, CONY 50: Nick Robertson scored 21 points, including five 3-pointers, to lead the Bulldogs to the KVAC A win in Fairfield.

Kobe Nadeau added 13 points for Lawrence (1-0).

Jordan Roddy led Cony (0-1) with 21 points while Brian Stratton chipped in eight.

GARDINER 51, MEDOMAK 44: Connor Maguire scored 15 points to go along with seven rebounds, five assists and five blocks as the Tigers prevailed.

Ben Shaw contributed with 12 points and seven rebounds for Gardiner (1-0) as well.

Gabe Allaire scored 14 points to lead Medmak (0-1).

HAMPDEN 63, MESSALONSKEE 30: Tommy Raye and Kory Winch each had three of the Broncos’ 11 total 3-pointers in the season-opening Class A North win in Hampden.

Ian McIntyre led Hampden with 14 points, while Raye and Winch added nine and 13, respectively.

Messalonskee, held to just five points in both the first and third quarters, was led by Chase Warren’s 11 points.

MONMOUTH 60, OAK HILL 56, OT: The Mustangs made their foul shots down the stretch to decide the MVC season opener in Wales.

Monmouth, led by 21 points from Gabe Martin, made 17 of 29 from the charity stripe on the night. Evan Burnel chipped in 11 points.

Darryn Bailey scored a game-high 22 points for Oak Hill, which went just 8 of 27 at the free throw line.
