The Jefferson Area Community Food Pantry seeks donations, volunteers. During Thanksgiving, volunteers passed out turkeys, hams, other assorted meats, fresh and canned veggies and fruit to feed more than 100 friends and neighbors.

Good Shepherd Food Bank and the DRA farm provided dry and canned goods and fresh produce. Many people donated boxes of thanksgiving fixings, turkeys and money for the pantry to purchase Thanksgiving necessities. One person donated 35 pies to insure that every family had a desert.

Many new and dedicated volunteers helped with set up and distribution. Spirits were high inspite of the weather and the organizers are thankful for the generosity of the community.

To send a monetary gift, mail a donation to St. Giles Church, P.O. Box 34, Jefferson, ME 04348 with JACFB written in the memo area of the check.

Food is distributed from 4 to 5:30 p.m. the second and fourth Wednesday of the month at the church at 72 Gardiner Road.
