    Ken Fair inspects an antique tractor pedal on display Tuesday in the museum at his family's farm in Litchfield. Fair collected several vintage tools and implements from a barn that was razed at Applewald Farm and exhibited them in an anteroom of the farmhouse. Ken's Farm Museum is open when the farm stand is, Fair said, and the public is welcome to visit.

It was a hot summer day but there was good cheer during the event, which featured gifts, food and Santa, at Melody Ranch in Fairfield. More than 200 senior citizens from 10 nursing homes attended the event, courtesy of Bethany Vigue and volunteers. Vigue and her late husband, Gerald, founded the party 25 years ago.
