Dereck Oltz holds a cat that he found last Saturday, a day after a fire destroyed apartment building where he lived at 36 Northern Ave. in Augusta. Oltz said the cat belongs to a neighbor in the building and that he had found it hiding in woods near the building’s charred remains. He had taken his mother, Heather Oltz, back see the building where she had lived until it burned down on Friday morning.
