WATERVILLE — Police arrested a 20-year-old woman twice in an eight-hour period for allegedly furnishing alcohol to minors in her Summer Street apartment.

Deputy Police Chief Joseph P. Massey said Nicole M. Whitman faces a fine of up to $1,000 for the misdemeanor.

Police also issued summons to three minors, ages 18, 17 and 15, for possession of alcohol at Whitman's apartment.

Massey said police arrested Whitman initially at about 6 p.m. Thursday after receiving a report of a loud party. At the time, Massey said Whitman had a 15-and 17-year-old in her apartment drinking alcohol.

Whitman posted bail and was released with certain restrictions, including that she not possess or consume alcohol.

But Massey said police, after another report of a loud party, found Whitman with a bottle of coffee brandy in her hand at about 2 a.m. Friday in her apartment. He said she was with an 18-year-old Waterville woman — for whom she had provided alcohol.

As a result of breaking her bail conditions, Whitman lost her right to bail and was sent to Kennebec County jail, Massey said.
