STAFF REPORT

University of Southern Maine junior Bethany Dumas isn’t where she wants to be, but she was plenty good Saturday at the Bryant University Invitational track meet.

Dumas, a fomer Cony standout, cleared 11 feet in the pole vault to win the event. She also finished seventh in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 15.90.

“The meet went well,” said Dumas. “I didn’t get the height I wanted, but as far as technique goes, I’m coming around.”

Dumas cleared 11-feet, 6 inches in a meet last weekend at Florida State University.

“I’d like to get 12 feet this year,” she added.
