HOULTON — Maine Education Commissioner Stephen Bowen is in northern Maine as he continues a “listening tour” aimed at getting ideas on how to improve the state’s school system.

Bowen is visiting Houlton Elementary School on Wednesday morning, followed by a public forum Wednesday night at Caribou Middle School.

On Thursday, he’ll be in Limestone, with a stop at the Maine School of Science and Mathematics.

The stops are part of his ongoing tour to meet with teachers, superintendents, students and parents across Maine. Bowen has pledged to visit all nine superintendent regions in Maine in his first 100 days as commissioner.
