GARDINER — Money management and borrowing strategies are among the topics that will be covered at a public brown bag conference to be presented by Maine’s Bureau of Consumer Credit Protection.

Today’s conference at the University of Maine at Augusta is free and open to the public. Presenters will include the U.S. Postal Inspector’s Office, the Maine attorney general’s consumer division, a Boston Federal Reserve Bank attorney and a financial expert who will discuss responsible money management strategies.

Bureau of Consumer Credit Protection staffers will also discuss foreclosure avoidance and short-term borrowing basics.

People attending should bring their own lunches. Free soda and juice will be provided.
