FARMINGTON — The University of Maine Cooperative Extension in Franklin County will offer a pruning workshop from 9 to 11 a.m. April 30 at University of Maine at Farmington, Robert’s Learning Center, 270 Main St. The class will be held rain or shine. Pre-registration is required; to register, or for more information, call 778-4650 or 800-287-1478. A $10 fee is payable the day of the class.

Dave Fuller, agriculture and non-timber forest products professional, for UMaine Cooperative Extension, will teach the importance of pruning; what kinds of cuts to make; and conduct hands-on demonstrations. The class will start in the classroom and will move to a yard with apple, peach, pear and highbush blueberry plants where pruning will be demonstrated. Dress to be outside and bring your favorite pruning tool.
