AUGUSTA — A Waterville woman was sentenced recently in Kennebec County Superior Court to two years in jail, with all but 45 days suspended, and two years of probation after pleading guilty to domestic-violence assault and two counts of violating conditions of release.

Justice Michaela Murphy banned Marie R. Towers, 31, from contact with the victim — her boyfriend — until she completes an anger management course and gets court approval.

“No calls, no e-mails, no texts,” the judge told her. “If you see him, you have to run the other way.”

The boyfriend has already filed a written request with the court asking that the ban be removed. He insisted nothing happened.

The assault occurred Feb. 25 and the violations of conditions of release occurred March 16, all in Waterville.
