FREEPORT — L.L. Bean says four Lewiston workers fired for buying a leather tote bag after its price had been inadvertently reduced on the company’s website are getting their jobs back.
L.L. Bean spokeswoman Carolyn Beem says the company has apologized to the women and will pay them lost wages. She says they will resume working “as soon as their schedules allow.”
The workers’ attorney said the four were fired after placing orders for themselves on the L.L. Bean website. The bag was originally priced at $169 but for about two days was erroneously marked down to $19.
The employees’ lawyer, Rebecca Webber, told the Sun Journal newspaper her clients are glad they will be going back to work.
