LISBON FALLS — It’s that time of the year when Mainers are encouraged to show some moxie.
Moxie lovers are showing their love for the quirky concoction this weekend at the Moxie Festival in Lisbon Falls.
Moxie is Maine’s official soft drink, and the festival draws tens of thousands of visitors to pay homage to the bittersweet soda that was created by a Mainer in the 1870s.
Sen. Olympia Snowe is joining in today’s parade. Other events include a 6-mile river race and a recipe contest. This year’s theme is “Moxie….it’s Maine in a bottle!”
