AUGUSTA — Free family activities from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. July 16 at the Maine State Museum will celebrate a special exhibit, “Off Limits: Pine Trees, Politics, and the King’s Broad Arrow,” currently on display.

There will be talks and demonstrations, tree ring readings, and a Pine Path through the museum, all featuring Maine’s state tree, the white pine.

The exhibit is open through August and includes artifacts excavated from a Revolutionary War privateer and drawings by Samuel F. Manning.
