FARMINGTON — The family of an 81-year-old Farmington woman who was fatally stabbed in her apartment has established a reward fund for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person responsible.
Grace Burton died June 21 after somebody broke into her apartment and stabbed her during a struggle. Police say the attacker lost a lot of blood and that they have DNA samples, but they haven’t found a match.
Burton’s son, Robert Butterfield, tells the Sun Journal an account has been established at Franklin Savings Bank where donations may be sent for the Grace Burton Reward Fund.
He says family members hope to raise funds through benefits such as a supper, silent auction and dance, and through donation canisters at local businesses.
