AUGUSTA — The 22nd annual Open Farm Day 2011 will be 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Sunday.

Farms throughout Maine’s 16 counties will be open to offer the public an opportunity to learn agriculture.

Many farms will have demonstrations, displays and farm-raised products for sale, as well as animals and crops to experience. Activities include barn and field tours, milking, hay rides, petting zoos, nature trails and refreshments.

The following area farms will participate in Open Farm Day 2011:

Franklin County: Knowlton Corner Farm, 341 Knowlton Corner Road, Farmington; Marble Family Farm, 853 Holley Road, Farmington; Whitehill Farm, 357 McCrillis Corner Road, East Wilton.

Kennebec County: Caverly Farms, 1430 River Road, Clinton; Dream on a Stream Alpaca Ranch, 443 Bartlett Road, Mount Vernon; Emma’s Family Farm, 135 Windsor Neck Road., Windsor; Fieldstone Gardens, 55 Quaker Lane, Vassalboro; Flood Brothers Dairy Farm, 839 River Road, Clinton; Friends’ Folly Farm, 319 Norris Hill Road, Monmouth; Hart-to-Hart Farm, Hussey Road, Albion; Long Meadow Farm, 29 Long Meadow Drive, West Gardiner; Misty Acres Alpaca Farm, 3071 West River Road, Sidney; Phoenix Farm, 191 South Monmouth Road, Monmouth; Spinnakees’ Farm, 1180 Tasker Road, Augusta; Winterberry Farm, 538 Augusta Road, Belgrade.
