CAMP PENDLETON, Calif. — Marine Corporal Scott Bonnell of Oakland is stationed at the Camp Pendleton Marine Corps base to conduct scenario-based training exercises before deploying to Afghanistan later this year.

As part of the training, Afghan role players created an environment similar to what the Marines might experience during the deployment.

Bonnell, along with other Marines, seek to develop Afghan National Police into leaders and instructors.
