AUGUSTA — Old Fort Western still has openings this summer for young apprentices.

Participants can learn what it was like to be apprentices in storekeeping, blacksmithing, spinning and soldiering during the 18th century.

The week-long program continues 8:30 a.m. to noon, Monday through Friday. Cost is $62.50 per week per child; scholarships and discounts are available.
