AUGUSTA — A Kansas hair stylist plans to give people haircuts in all 50 states to raise money for animal shelters.

And he’s kicking off his mission at Visage Salon and Day Spa in Augusta Monday.

Patrick Lomantini will offer haircuts at Visage, downtown, in exchange for donations to the Kennebec Valley Humane Society. The Wichita-based Lomantini wants to give haircuts in 50 states in 50 days, with proceeds going to animal shelters across the country. He hopes to cut 50 heads of hair in each city he visits.

The haircuts for donations are available Monday, from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. The salon may be contacted for an appointment at 623-6209.

“When Patrick contacted us at KVHS about being part of this project we were thrilled to join such a unique event that will help raise funds and awareness for local animal shelters across the country,” Hillary Roberts, executive director of the Augusta animal shelter, said in a news release.

“It is also wonderful to see local businesses like Visage Salon and Day Spa donate their space and time for this event. We are very grateful to the salon owners, Frank and Anthony Coco.”
