BAR HARBOR — Bar Harbor’s College of the Atlantic has received a $2 million challenge grant from well-known philanthropist Kathryn W. Davis.

The grant will endow the Kathryn W. Davis Global Engagement Fund Toward Peace, which will enable students to study, conduct research and attend conference in other countries around the world.

As a challenge grant, the gift is intended to leverage matching funds from other donors.

Davis, who is 104, has a home in Northeast Harbor and is a lifelong philanthropist who has shown support for education, the arts, the environment, scientific research and international relations.
