BATH — Bath Police have identified the body of a man pulled from the Kennebec River  on Thursday as John C. Farrell, 51. Farrell had been living on York Street in Bath.

No suicide note or related message was found, but Farrell wore street clothing and a jacket when his body was pulled from the river.

Farrell’s body was found around 6:40 a.m. Thursday, when a person walking a dog in Bath‘s dog park noticed a man who appeared to be swimming in the river.

The person flagged down a Bath Iron Works patrol boat near the park, and the boat’s crew pulled Farrell’s body from the water.

Attempts to resuscitate him failed and he was pronounced dead at Waterfront Park.
