FARMINGTON — JP Fortier, executive director for Mount Blue Community Access TV, was recently installed on the board of directors of the Alliance for Community Media — Northeast Region in Shrewsbury, Mass. Fortier serves with another Maine board member, Sally Hebert, of Greene. He represents the interests of community television in Maine and brings his years of experience and knowledge to the Alliance. The Northeast Region encompasses Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York, Rhode Island and Vermont.

Fortier has served as executive director for Mount Blue TV for the past 11 years. Through years of hard work and dedication, he has built the program from a one-room location in the basement of the Farmington Recreation Center to a high-tech, fully equipped and operational television studio at Merrill Hall, UMF. The studio offers citizens of the Farmington and Wilton area locally produced television programming on channel 11 on the Bee Line Cable TV Network.
