BANGOR — Sophomore Zach Emeigh scored a goal at the 88 minute, 23 second mark to lift Husson to a 3-2 win over Castleton State in the North Atlantic Conference men’s soccer final Saturday.

Phil Frost scored the first goal of the game off an assist from Tyler Metevier for Husson.

Castleton answered 12 minutes later when Nick Johnas scored off a free kick. Frost added his second goal of the game 13 minutes into the second half. Dillon Zaengle tied the game for the Spartans.

Husson keeper Nate Koenemann made three saves. Messalonskee graduate Chris DelGiudice was named to the all-tournament team for Husson (12-6-2).

Women’s soccer

No. 1 Castleton State 1, No. 3 Husson 0: Courtney Chadburn scored the only goal of the game to give the Spartans the NAC title in Castleton, Vt.

Hilary Cooke assisted the goal. Ericka Davis only had to make one save for Castleton St. (16-4-0).

Lawrence graduate Jessica Poulin made seven saves for Husson (9-11-0).

Cross Country

ECAC Division III Championships

Women: Abby Cheruiyot placed 26th to lead Colby to a fourth-place finish at Mount Greylock High School in Williamstown, Mass.

Anna Doyle was 30th for the Mules, followed by Michaela Swiatek (38th), Emily Harper (40th), Sylvia Doyle (41st), Maeve McGovern (50th) and Morgan Lingar (56th).

The Mules had a team score of 175. Middlebury College won the meet with 25 points.

Men: The Mules placed 11th out of 44 schools at Mount Greylock High School in Williamstown, Mass. Chris Greenlee placed 60th for the Mules followed by John Williams (65th), Tom Letourneau (77th), Justin Rouse (99th) and Paco DeFrancis (102nd).

Women’s volleyball

North Atlantic Conference final

No. 1 Colby-Sawyer 3, No. 2 Maine Maritime 0: The Chargers defeated the four-time defending conference champion Mariners for their first-ever league title by scores of 27-25, 25-18 and 25-15.

Tournament MVP Courtney O’Hara led Colby-Sawyer with 17 kills and 11 digs.

Emilee McBride added 32 assists and eith digs while Ally Le-Bruno pitched in with 25 digs. The Chargers are 20-14 and earned the NAC’s automatic qualifier and will find out Monday who they will play in the NCAA Women’s Volleyball Tournament.

Maine Maritime was led by Chelsea Ward with eight kills and nine digs and Jennifer Dixon with 20 assists and eight digs.

Also Saturday: Winslow graduate Courtney Carnes had a pair of assists as Buffalo State defeated Potsdam 3-2 in women’s ice hockey action. … Cony graduate Will Lundquist of the University of Southern Maine finished fourth at the ECAC championship cross country meet in 28:28.15.
