Colby students, guests face drinking charges

Two Colby students and their three guests were summoned on drinking-related charges Sunday.

Police got a call from Colby security officials at 12:45 a.m. Sunday, saying they found two teenagers who appeared to be intoxicated walking on campus, said Waterville Police Chief Joseph Massey. The teenagers were not Colby students, he said.

Two Colby students, Peter Kerr, who gave his address as Mayflower Hill, and Patrick Henke, of Rhinebeck, N.Y., both 20, were summoned in connection with the incident and charged with possession of alcohol by a minor and furnishing a place for minors to consume or possess alcohol, Massey said.

The two 16-year-olds as well as another boy, 16, and Henke’s brother, Timothy, 18, had taken a bus from New York to visit Henke and they were all staying in Kerr and Patrick Henke’s dorm room, according to Massey.

Timothy Henke was summoned and charged with illegal possession of alcohol by a minor, he said.
