I would like to congratulate the Messalonskee boys soccer team and coaches for a fantastic season.

The boys played hard, they played as a team and they were respectful of each other, and they have a lot to be proud of. Although they didn’t end up winning the state championship, they are still winners because they are the Class A Eastern Maine champions.

These boys are a very close-knit group making their fans, coaches, and administrators proud to be part of their success; and they have brought more excitement and enthusiasm to Messalonskee High School than I have seen there for quite a while. It has been a joy to watch this team play!

Thank you  to John Moody, Messalonskee principal, for all of his support and enthusiasm; and Tom Hill, the athletic director, along with other administrators and staff who believed and supported the soccer program.

I would like to thank and congratulate Head Coach Tom Sheridan and Assistant Coach John DelGiudice for their guidance and support of these young men this season, along with the help from Trainer Nick Thompson.

Also a big thank you to the parents of these players for all they do to instill good sportsmanship and support to these young men, which showed at Falmouth on Saturday night. Last but not least, I want to thank the players, who gave me such a wonderful experience this fall.

Way to go Messalonskee Eagles soccer team. You make us all proud.
