WINTHROP — The 27th annual holiday parade and community celebration will take place Saturday.

The parade, coordinated by the Winthrop Area Chamber of Commerce, will begin at 3:30 p.m. and travel down Main Street.

Participating businesses and organizations include:

* Charles M. Bailey Public Library, 39 Bowdoin St., will offer an open house with refreshments, from 1 to 3 p.m.

* Coldwell Banker Thomas Agency, 75 Main St., will offer complimentary photographs with Santa from 2 to 4 p.m.

* DR Struck Landscape Nursery, Route 202, will hold an open house with refreshments from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.


* The Wonder Awhile Nursery School will hold a holiday fair from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Winthrop United Methodist Church, 58 Main St. There will be baked goods, craft table, a concession stand, children’s second time around toys, books and clothes closet, games and activities for children, pictures with Santa and a silent auction.

* Rotary Club of Winthrop Christmas tree sale at Fairfield Insurance, 99 Main St.

* Winthrop High School will hold a craft fair from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Winthrop Grade School, 23 Highland Ave.

* Winthrop Congregational Church, 10 Bowdoin St., will hold its Ye Olde Christmas Fair and Luncheon from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. There will be collectibles, crafts, homemade foods, Rada cutlery and dishcloths, wreaths and evergreens, and more. Lobster rolls, fish chowder, meat or vegetable lasagna, hot dogs, and apple crisp will be for sale beginning at 11 a.m.
