WATERVILLE — The office of Dr. Charles Ruff, DMD, PA recently sponsored the second annual Halloween candy buyback. Ruff bought back Halloween candy from local kids and families for $1 per pound.
About 250 pounds of candy was collected and sent to the troops in Iraq and Afghanistan with the help of Operation Gratitude, along with toothbrushes and toothpaste donated by the office.
Local soldiers were on hand to talk with children and their families. A few local businesses also donated gift cards to the kids handing in candy. Those businesses included Cappza’s Pizza, Subway and Sparetime Recreation.
