WATERVILLE — Mark Comstock made a layup with 16 seconds left to lift the Castleton State men’s basketball team to a 91-90 win over Thomas College in a North Atlantic Conference game on Saturday.

Thomas (3-3, 1-1 in the conference) took a 90-89 lead on a jumper by Franklin Salvador with 25 seconds left by Comstock hit the game-winner. Jarrad DeVaugh’s layup just before the buzzer fell of the rim for Thomas.

Salvador finished with 23 points for the Terriers.

UM-Farmington 74, Green Mountain 73: Maranacook Community School graduate Ben Johnson had 20 points and 12 rebounds as the Beavers held off the Eagles in Farmington.

Dan Kane added 11 points and eight assists for UMF (2-3, 2-0 in the North Atlantic Conference). Andrew Dickey chipped in 11 points and Pet Sumner had 10. It was Sumner’s layup with 18 seconds left that sealed the win for the Beavers.

Carnelius Green and Jack Hepburn both scored 21 points for Green Mountain (1-4, 0-2 in the conference).

UM-Augusta 90, Hampshire College 38: Blake Nichols scored 21 points as the Moose cruised to a win in Augusta.

Eric Gagne had 16 points and David Pryor 11 for UMA (4-10).

Women’s hockey

Colby 2, Bowdoin 1, OT: Jazz Bazinet-Phillips scored to tie the game and Carolyn Fuwa scored in overtime as the Mules beat the Polar Bears at in Waterville.

Lauren Pashkowski scored late in the first period to give Bowdoin (1-2-1, 1-1-0 in the New England Small College Athletic Conference). Bazinet-Phillips scored with 5:36 left with an assist from Sylvia Xistris and Fuwa won it with less than two minutes left in overtime.

Brianne Wheeler had 39 saves for Colby (2-3-1, 1-3-0 in the conference).

Women’s basketball

UM-Farmington 67, Green Mountain College 42: The Beavers jumped out to an 18-1 lead and cruised to a win over the Eagles in Farmington.

Mt. Abram graduate Kenni Norton had 17 poitns and 11 different players scored for UMF (2-5, 1-1 in the NAC).

Chelsea Paul had 16 points and nine rebounds for Green Mountain (2-5, 0-2 in the conference).

Navy 73, Maine 56: Navy went 12 for 22 from 3-point range to beat the Black Bears in Annapolis, Md.

Samantha Wheeler and Samantha Baranowski both came off the bench to score 14 points for Maine (3-5). Kara Pollinger had 24 points, while Audrey Bauer had 15 and Chey Arvin 11 for Navy (4-3).

Castleton State 72, Thomas 44: Karin Bird scored 21 points, but the Terriers lost to the Spartans in Waterville.

Elizabeth Goodall added nine points and six rebounds for Thomas (1-5, 1-1 in the NAC).

Alyssa Leonard had 17 points and 11 rebounds for Castleton State (5-1, 2-0 in the conference).

UM-Augusta 75, Hampshire College 38: Katie Poirier had 25 points as the Moose cruised in Augusta.

Jenn Lola added 17, while Ashley Peaslee chipped in 16 for UMA (7-2).

Thomas 79, Green Mountain 54: Ted Rioux earned his first victory as head coach of the Terriers with a victory over the Eagles in Waterville.

Karin Bird scored 31 points for Thomas (1-4, 1-0 in the conference).

Jacque Caster had 17 points, while Millicent Hopper had 13 for Green Mountain (2-4, 0-1 in the conference).

Also Saturday: Courtney Carnes of Winslow scored with 12 seconds left, but Buffalo State lost a women’s hockey game to Plattsburgh 4-1 in Buffalo, N.Y. … Winthrop graduate Sam LeClerc had 13 points as the Bentley men’s basketball team beat Southern New Hampshire 92-76 in Waltham, Mass. … Richmond High School graduate Marc Zaharchuk scored a team-high 18 points as the Husson men’s basketball team beat Maine Maritime Academy 77-64 in Bangor. Benjamin Russell of Farmington had 12 points for MMA.
