ELIOT — Jamie Plummer had 14 points, 12 rebounds and five blocks as the defending Western Maine Class D girls basketball champion Richmond Bobcats opened the season with a 46-26 win over Seacoast Christian on Saturday.

Danica Hurley added eight points and seven assists, while Brianna Snedeker grabbed 11 rebounds for Richmond.

Ruth Towne had eight points to lead Seacoast Christian.

Boys basketball

Hebron 80, Kents Hill 70: Xavier Bernard had 25 points as the Lumberjacks beat the Huskies in Hebron.

Amechi Onoh added 19 points and Shaquille Cezont-Holmes added 16 for Hebron (2-0).

O’Shea Bell had 24 points and Elijah Roberts 19 for Kents Hill (1-1). James Brown added 14 and Cam Dow 10.

Erskine 68, Messalonskee 51: Shyler Scates scored 25 points as Erskine pulled away to beat Messalonskee in the season-opener for both teams in South China.

Devin Duncan added 12 points and Tom Grady had 10 for Erskine (1-0).

Riley Wentworth had 12 points, including four 3-pointers in the first half for Messalonskee (0-1). Elijah Steele added 10 points.
