I recently learned that the members of U.S. Congress have exempted themselves from insider trading laws (a jailable offense for non-Congress citizens).

Congress holds hearings, learns about pending stock changes and then buys stock, thereby enriching themselves while walking all over the average non-Congress citizen.

That means 535 persons (both sexes) who make the rules for millions of U.S. citizens can exempt themselves from laws that they can profit from.

I say that any member of Congress who enters into this practice should be recalled. This is supposed to be the land of opportunity, but this is quashed at every turn by politicians.
