PORTLAND — Maine’s highest court is scheduled to hear the appeal of a Standish woman sentenced to 16 years in prison for beating her husband with a baseball bat and trying to make it look like a home invasion.

The Supreme Judicial Court is scheduled to hear Linda Dolloff’s appeal today.

Dolloff was sentenced last January following her conviction on charges including attempted murder.

Authorities say in April 2009 Dolloff beat her husband while he slept then shot herself in the stomach to make it look like they were victims of a home invasion.

Prosecutors say Dolloff was angry because her husband planned to bring another woman to the home they shared. The couple was going through a divorce.

WMTW-TV reports that Dolloff is alleging prosecutorial misconduct in her appeal.
