AUGUSTA — Josie Lee was fouled on an offensive rebound and hit the second of two free throws with no time remaining in the second overtime to lift the Cony girls basketball team to a 65-64 Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference Class A victory over Edward Little on Tuesday in Augusta.

Senior guard Mia Diplock poured in 27 points and added four steals and four assists for Cony (2-0), while Melanie Guzman added 11 points and nine rebounds and Lee totaled eight points and 17 rebounds. The Rams trailed 32-22 at the half but pulled even with a 17-7 third quarter, and the game was tight the rest of the way.

Ashlee Arnold scored 24 points for Edward Little (0-2), which took a six-point lead during the first overtime.

Erskine 43, Lewiston 37: Bridget Humphrey had 14 points, 11 rebounds and three steals as the Eagles won the KVAC A game in Lewiston.

Meryl Bond led all scorers with 21 points for Erskine, which improves to 1-1.

Jenessa Talarico had 10 points for Lewiston (0-2).

Richmond 52, Buckfield 12: Jamie Plummer had 20 points, six rebounds and six steals as the host Bobcats won the East-West Conference game.

Danica Hurley added nine points, nine steals and five assists for Richmond (2-0). Brianna Snedecker added six points and 11 steals.

Buckfield falls to 1-1.

Gardiner 46, Maranacook 38: Kylee Granholm had 13 points as the Tigers won the KVAC B game in Readfield.

Jenna Moore added nine points, while both Ally Day and Katie McAllister had seven for Gardiner (2-0).

Hannah Cumler had 13 points and Christine Miller 11 for Maranacook (0-2).

Monmouth 50, Winthrop 20: Kylie Kemp scored 15 points as the Mustangs won the MVC game in Winthrop on Monday.

Kristine Kahl added 14 points for Monmouth (2-0).

Cat Ouellette had five points for Winthrop (0-2).
