WATERVILLE — Outdoor ice skating is coming back to the city.
The Alfond Youth Center has partnered with local volunteers to build two outdoor ice skating rinks at the center’s North Street facility.
After losing the historic South End Rink years ago, the city has gone without the timeless Maine tradition of a community gathering at the local outdoor skating rink, said Ken Walsh, executive director.
“Skating has been a really big part of our community in the past and finally its coming back,” he said.
