Christina Zabierek of Vassalboro was recently promoted to staff sergeant in the Maine Army National Guard.
Zabierek completed senior paralegal training at Fort Jackson, S.C.
As a result of being named the Distinguished Honor Graduate for military training, she was awarded the Army Achievement Medal for superior academic performance.
Zabierek is the daughter of Robert Zabierek and Suzie Kovats of Sherman. She graduated from Katahdin High School and attended the University of Maine at Augusta.
